My journey in Real Estate started when I purchased a small lake cottage in the spring of my first year of teaching in the Portage, Michigan, Public Schools.  I was sharing a rental house with 2 other teachers, and I saw this ancient, ailing structure as an opportunity to be a "homeowner" for the first time.  Never mind it was really more of a disaster than a challenge for a first-time homebuyer; it consumed my entire summer with repairs and expenses I never anticipated.  There was a lot of work and not much play that summer, but I learned a lot!  And I even made money when I sold it in the fall of the same year.

Not to be easily deterred, I made several more real estate investments before I finally became a licensed Real Estate Associate in the Fall of 1985.  I had left public school teaching in 1976 to come to the Pacific Northwest, and had subsequently been employed in a variety of business/accounting positions.  I first became an Office Manager for a general contractor in 1986, but I have continued to keep my Real Estate License active through the present time.  I also persevered with my business and accounting studies to earn my Masters of Business Administration Degree in September 2001.

Most recently I have "retired" from Carefree Homes, Inc., located in Lynnwood, Washington, after more than 10 busy and productive years as Office Manager/Accountant.  My Real Estate training and experience has been invaluable to the positions I have held, as well as to the clients and customers I have served over the years as a part-time Real Estate Associate.

I first came to Port Angeles in 1990 looking for property for a client as well as for myself, but I didn't buy a home here until 1998.  I subsequently sold my home to return to work in Lynnwood, but I couldn't stay away.  I bought a lot in Port Angeles in the summer of 2003 and my new home was completed last summer (2004), but I continued to commute to Lynnwood to work.  Now that I have retired, I am looking forward to living the "good life" and sharing my years and years of experience with my associates as well as my clients and customers.  I am especially excited to have the opportunity to give my full time and attention to my Real Estate Career at Carroll Realty, and be an active member of the community.
